Current Ephesus Ticket Prices (2025)
The Turkish Ministry of Culture updates entrance fees annually, usually in January. As of 2025, the prices are:
Ephesus general admission: 750 TL (approximately $22 USD / €20). Terrace Houses (additional): 500 TL (~$15 USD). Ephesus + Terrace Houses combo: 1,250 TL (~$37 USD). Museum Pass (Aegean region): 1,500 TL (~$45 USD) — covers Ephesus, Terrace Houses, Ephesus Museum, St. John Basilica, and other regional sites.
Is the Museum Pass Worth It for Cruise Visitors?
If you plan to visit Ephesus + Terrace Houses + the Ephesus Museum in Selcuk, the Museum Pass saves you money and skips the ticket line at each site. For a cruise visitor doing the full Ephesus experience in one day, it is a solid deal. If you are only visiting the main Ephesus site, the individual ticket is sufficient.
Where to Buy Tickets
Tickets are sold at the entrance gates. Both the Upper Gate and Lower Gate have ticket offices. You can pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard) or Turkish lira cash. Euros and dollars are sometimes accepted but at unfavorable rates. There is also an official online ticket option via muze.gov.tr, though availability can be inconsistent.
Free Entry Days and Discounts
Children under 8 enter free. Turkish citizens over 65 and students with valid Turkish student IDs get discounted entry. International student cards (ISIC) may get a discount—show it and ask. Museum Day (May 18) traditionally offers free entry to all visitors.
What Your Ticket Includes
The general admission ticket gives you access to the entire archaeological site of Ephesus: all streets, temples, the Great Theatre, the Library of Celsus, the Agora, and all public areas. It does NOT include the Terrace Houses (separate ticket), the Ephesus Museum in Selcuk (separate site), or the Temple of Artemis (free to view from outside).
